WHY COACHING?

As children, teens, and adults, almost all of us get hurt, scared, stressed, and oftentimes, stuck. In fact, nearly 2 in 3 people experience some sort of adverse childhood experience, whether challenges at home, neglect, and/or abuse.*

There are many, many resources, programs, systems and drugs that are intended to help us overcome obstacles and ideally take action. The problem is that one size doesn’t fit all, so specific approaches like the 12 Steps, pharmaceuticals or even a program like “10 steps to healthy living” aren’t taking into account all of the factors that make you and your situation unique. Those programs and pills work for some people some of the time. A more effective approach to solving your specific challenges, however, is to develop your own specific solutions.

In coaching we believe that you are the expert of your own life, and as a coach I’m here to help you gain awareness and insight, unlock your potential, and take action to be the best version of yourself that you can be.

WHAT IS SOMATICS?

Somatics is a broad term that means body and sensation-based practices, generally in movement, dance, bodywork, and therapy.

I will help you understand how trauma is stored in your body, tune into the "felt sense" of your experience, and work on regulating your nervous system.

MY STORY

We Make the Road by Walking

I've been practicing contact improvisation, or CI, since early 2010. It's a movement form not unlike dancing. People often have powerful experiences moving their bodies in new and unexpected ways, following their impulses, discharging energy stored in their nervous system.

I wanted to make contact improv a more explicitly therapeutic experience. So I started researching different fields that could provide a solid foundation for me to translate my experiences into methods and practices to help people live healthier, happier lives.

I'm now a certified holistic coach developing a unique approach that combines coaching, somatics, mindfulness and improvisational movement to help people gain clarity, heal from chronic pain and trauma, and grow.

I'm an artist and performer with over a decade of experience in mindful movement through contact improvisation, have years of experience with mindfulness, including Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction, and am currently studying Somatic Experiencing.

I'm working to help others live more intentional, fulfilling lives, get them on a sustainable path to healing trauma, and strengthen connections between body, mind, heart and spirit.
